Sep. 9, 2022 --- Glass 49
GW 0
Painful lessons continue
Without their best offensive
player available, the GW Eagles went in short-handed in their annual
showdown with arch-rival E.C. Glass. The Eagles struggled on
both sides of the ball as they dropped a 49-0 decision to the
Hilltoppers.
The game started off promisingly. The Eagles recovered an
on-side kick and got the ball in Glass territory. After two
first downs the Eagles had to settle for a field goal attempt.
It was no good. Unfortunately that was as close as
the Eagles would come to scoring all night. They suffered
their first shutout loss in ten years.
The loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 for the first time since 2002.
They'll have a week off before they begin district play
against Patrick County.
