Eagles top Trojans for first win!

The G.W. Eagles worked out some frustrations against another team that was looking for it's first win of the year.  They scored on offense and special teams, and used a smothering defense to trounce the Tunstall Trojans 34-6 in Dry Fork, earning their first win of the 2022 football season.

The Eagles took control of things on the opening kickoff.  Elijah Bridges picked up a squibbed kick on the 19 yard line, then ran untouched down the left sideline to give the Eagles their first points since Week Two.  The game remained 6-0 until late in the first half.  Nehemiah Cabell tossed his first TD pass of the year when he found Ishaun Myers from three yards out, giving the Eagles their first offensive touchdown in ten quarters of play.

The Eagles went up 20-0 midway through the third on a short pass that Anthony Brawner turned into a scintillating 57-yard touchdown!  But the Trojans put together a drive, with help from a couple of Eagles penalties.  A long fourth-down pass set up a short touchdown run to make it 20-6.  Then the Trojans recovered an onside kick, but the Eagles forced a three-and-out on defense to get the ball back.  

The Eagles dominated the fourth quarter, scoring two more touchdowns to win 34-6.
