NOTES FOR 2016 GAME vs. E.C. GLASS
***This series is one of the oldest in the entire state of Virginia. It dates back to 1920, but teams from Lynchburg and Danville have been playing each other since 1905. Glass leads the all-time series 48-39-6. Since 1964, G.W. leads 25-16-1. G.W. has won 14 of the last 176 games, and the last seven in a row. Tonight’s is the 94th meeting between the rivals
***Jeff Woody is in his second year as the Hilltoppers’ Head Coach. He won two state championships earlier this decade at nearby Brookville High School. Woody brings the no-huddle offense to Glass.
***Jr. Thomas Patterson is a two-year starter at Linebacker. He was honorable mention All-District in 2015.
***Soph. OL-Jacori Katrell was Honorable Mention as a Freshman last fall!
***Tre Alexander had three catches for 109 yards and two touchdowns in their win over Harrisonburg. He also returned an interception for a TD. Alexander returned the game’s opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown to put his team on top last week against Halifax County. He also broke up a fourth down pass.
***Sackett Wood completed six of 19 attempts for 160 yards in week one. Wood scored three touchdowns last week against Halifax.

Berger led Glass in rushing with 121 yards on 11 carries in their season-opening
win over Harrisonburg.
***K-Ben McCarthy missed a 41-yard field goal attempt last week.
***Last week, Glass effectively locked down the Comets’ ground game, holding the Comets to 61 yards on 30 carries. They put up 322 yards of total offense. The Hilltoppers have scored 64 points in the first two weeks.
