4-0!!

The GW Eagles survived a shaky third quarter to hold off the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers Friday, leaving Daleville with a convincing 34-14 win.

The Eagles' offense aired it out in the first half. Octaven Covington tossed two touchdown passes. It included one receiver who high-pointed the ball in the end zone to beat double coverage; and another that was drawn up on the playground. A rushing score gave G.W. what seemed like a comfortable 21-0 halftime lead.

But the Cavs stormed back in the third quarter. Helped by one extremely questionable pass interference call, the Cavs found their wings and scored to make it 21-7. They then recovered an onside kick and scored again, and suddenly it was a one-touchdown game!

But the Eagles defense puts the clamps on the Cavs the rest of the night. Meaning, the offense added two more touchdowns...including one that had to be seen to be believed!
